                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I agree that fish oil by itself in high doses is unlikely to cause excessive bleeding as a result of blood thinning. However, when high dose fish oil is combined with other blood thinning agents there is a greater possibility of negative interactions. The factor in fish oil that really matters is not how many grams of fish oil one is consuming but how much of it is standardized to EPA and DHA, as the former is the primary inhibitor of prostaglandins and blood clotting factor. This is especially difficult to estimate when consuming fish as a food rather than a supplement, because different species of fish have different amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.</p>]]></content:encoded>

I get around 30 grams of fish oil daily from fish, not supplements, and didn't notice any increase in bleeding (indicative of thinning blood) when I accidentally cut my leg the other day.</p>]]></content:encoded>
