It is ideal to take protein in moderate amounts throughout the day. 80g of protein in one serving isn't going to do much, simply because your body doesn't store protein.. what it has no need for it puts for waste.
Post workout would be a good time for protein, however if you're taking Creatine... take that post-workout with grape juice. Wait around 1/2 hour for your stomach to begin absorbing that then take your protein drink.
Protein is also ideal before you go to sleep. Simply because your muscles re-build themselves while you are sleeping. Protein is the building block of muscle tissue. Need I say more?
