Anybody using Celexa?

Citalopram is good stuff. Very mild and effective. It doesn't make you drowsy and sedated like Xanax.
Bad part is it takes about 3-6 weeks to reach full effectiveness.

yeah I'm aware that it will take a few weeks to feel the full effects, but thats kinda what i wanted, i didnt wanna feel all dopey and shit

any side effects? particularly sexual

Yes on the sexual sides . Definitely made me less motivated but nothing trt can't fix.

Did your doc start you on 10mg or 20mg?

He started me at 20mg/day, said he would see how I react to that and adjust accordingly

Well doc had me on 20mg but I was able to cut it down to 10mg. You don't want to be too dependant on SSRIs especially at a high dose.

I've been on 10mg Lexapro for 4 years now, started using it after a divorce. For me it seemed to help with aggression more than anything although it was prescribed for depression. This particular SSRI took several weeks to build up in my system as is the case for most. The only sexual side that I noticed was delayed orgasm, sex just takes longer, not so bad actually. I have tried to taper off this medication twice and have been unsuccessful as the anxiety was very strong. From what I understand this is common with these classes of medication.

as far as tapering off, ill worry about that when it happens, he said hed like to keep me on it for a minimum of six months, for now i just want to feel better

Been on the generic brand Citalopram 20mg for almost a year. Everyone is different although, it saved my marriage, relationship with my kids, and quite possibly someones life. I never knew I had a little problem until after taking it a few weeks and noticed not being the same person with the same responses in situations. made me hungry as shit at first, but goes away. The only sexual effect was it's hard to finish sometimes. Good Luck.

Yeah I'm on the generic as well, today has been exactly a week and I dunno if its in my head or what but i feel slightly diff....in a good way
I havent noticed any increase in appetite but he also put me on antibiotics and theyre messing with my stomach
