A buddy of mine just gave me some of body fortress's creatine drink mix.... Has anyone used body fortress brand supplements before?? is it worth taking

Creatine is creatine. That is a debate of itself. If you are just starting out or not overhauling your diet and supps, it is simply creatine. Take about 5-10 grams during your workout or afterwards. The point of creatine is to allow the phosphates (of creatine phosphate) to bond to adp (adenosine diphosphate) to turn into atp (adenosine triphosphate) to give you more energy. With the energy, you can have more contraction and/or movement. A creatine monohydrate is more than fine. I personally like and favor creatine esters.
thanks for the info bro... so is it sufficient to take it while im also taking protein?? cause i have beeen told that creatine inhibits the absorption of protein or vice versa... just makin sure..
It's really not that big of a deal. For the average person, I'll recommend taking your protein, creatine, carbs, glutamine mix after your workout. If you are trying to be hardcore, you could do something like (This is what I do.) this:
- 5-10 minutes before warmup, take 30 grams of dextrose with packed tablespoon of protein (purpose - insulin spike to aid in protein synthesis)
- midpoint of workout, take 30 grams of dextrose with 7 grams of creatine ester (insulin spike during workout, trying to force protein synthesis, and creatine is to help with atp production)
- 3/4 point of workout, take 90cc scoop of whey protein isolate (with the insulin spikes, the new protein will break down into amino acids to be available for protein synthesis)
- arrival at the house, meal (duh, nutrition...geez...like this one was hard to figure out...) 😀
