We don't know for certain, but given that potassium/magnesium alleviates it, we're guessing the build up of the MP in cells effects the sodium/potassium pump, which is also what leads to the cramping.

I've never heard of asparagus' duiretic qualities. Is there a particular lignan or extract that exerts the efect?

Yeah Hypokalemia is a "maintenance factor" for metabolic alkalosis. As you know sodium is reabsorbed whenever the body is trying to hold onto bicarbonate. Sounds a little counter-intuitive but if you pick up a book called "Understanding acid/base" by Benjamin Abelow M.D. it explains all this stuff crystal clear.

Yeah I could never really grasp acid/base till I read that book.

I like Melting point- its definitely good stuff. Stacks nicely with x factor for that matter as well.

Russ, you should be keeping a weekly log of your usage. I know a lot of people are intrigue by the potential there.
