how much sodium during the day is a good amount to keep from retaining water?

RDA recommendations are less than 2,400 mg/day... if looking to shed water I would keep it under 1,500 mg/day

It really depends more on the amount of h20 you are drinking.It's not about high sodium intake,it's about high CONCENTRATIONS of sodium.Ex: put a teaspoon of salt in your hand and taste it and it's salty as can be.Pour the same amount into 2 gallons of h20 and you won't even taste it.So x amount of sodium while hardly drinking water will actually make you retain more because of the high con. of sodium.The same amount taken in while drinking 1-2 gallons of h20 will not make you retain water,assuming you are a healthy person[no kidney or high blood pressure probs]
