doing a low carb cut. thinking 5 days in a row low carb 80-150 and then 1 day mid carb 150-225 and 1 day high carb 300plus then start over. sound about right?
Okay this is actually where my expertise is so I can stand by what I say.
If you're going to do a low carb diet (ketogenic, atkins, paleo) then you're gonna have to do it right. To optimally burn fat without the inclusion of carbohydrates and insulin spikes you'll have to consistently keep your carb intake below 100g a day. If you do that you'll at least enter a mild state of ketosis in which case the fatty acids from your adipose tissue will be burned off as fuel in the form of ketones in place of glucose molecules. If you want you could do the cyclical ketogenic diet which is where you consume very low carb, high protein and fat for 6 days then have a 24 hour period for a glycogen refeed in which you eat carbs and refill muscle glycogen to fuel your workouts for the following week. This will preserve the most muscle and burn the most fat.
