2. If you have a labral lesion (e.g. SLAP) ...OK think of shoulder as ball in socket. Boney socket is shallow so it has cartilage collar around it. The cartilage collar is labra. If you've torn this, regular MRI is often not enough, and you'll need MRI with contrast (given into shoulder joint=MRI arthrogram) to diangose it.

3. Most docs are as good as...heh most personal trainers.

2. Understood. My good friend recently received MRI with contrast to diagnose his SLAP lesion.

I'd do these e/d in addition to the 4 exercises below.

I'd also think a 6 week course of a highly dosed OTC test booster would be a good move for LBM retention.Might as well add some formasin too.

I'd ante up with some of your mod credit and get some SyntheSIZE while supplementing with 5 grams of glucosamine e/d.The glucosamine will help with leptin and will impart LG Mass-esque bennies.Anything a higher dose of glucosamine may do would be welcome joint wise as well, but that would be a bonus.

I've been megadosing cissus for the past 2 months and recently have added NAG (N-Acetyl-Glucosamine) and celadrin (oral). On Trouble's recommendation in another thread, I purchased some Traumeel cream and have been applying it to my left shoulder and right quad.

Good call but I was giving you the heads up on the glucosamine to enhance the SyntheSIZE as that is the best you will get for LBM retention while not training sans androgens,as far as I can see.Well, the cissus, especially highly dosed, may rival the effects of the LG Mass/bastardized syntheSIZE.They'll certainly be complimentery.

Btw,if performed correctly the towel dislocates will actually cause a bit of discomfort and both shoulers will hurt(like a helluva pumped up feeling) after 50 reps.

The first few times I tried them I couldn't hit 50 slow/calculated reps. They're much more difficult than you'd think with both arms kept fully straight but the feedback on the board has been quite positive.Toad,Dito and Kimbo have successfully rehabbed doing them, not that I'd suggest doing them and foregoing other add'l rehab exercises.

They have worked for me,when I was patient enough to actually perform rehab exercises.

Four weeks of no lifting and treatment with piroxicam / diclofenac / celecoxib did nothing, so I went in for an MRI-arthrogram. The results came back negative for rotator cuff damage, but I was told that SLAP tears are not easily diagnosed through an MRI (which I knew). The pain and popping sensations are still present, so I am now pushing for arthroscopy to determine the cause of my discomfort (and, indirectly, my depression).

Shoulder pain sucks. It effects everything. I've been lucky but after doing 30lb medicine ball tosses(then run or crawl to ball and repeat) for several minutes several sets 2-3 times a week for some great cardio, my right shoulder was just shot. I couldn't do any chest movements, rear delt fly movements, and several others - unlike you I could overhead presses and some external rotater work. Chins/rows were hit or miss depending on the day in terms of my ability to be able to do them.

Well I sucked it up and tried ART - AMAZING!!!! After 5-6 treatments I can now bench press do flyes, rear delt motions, most horizontal and vertical pulling motions. ART is truly the shiznit! 40 bucks a session is a lot for me but it truly is priceless as weight training is obviously a big part of your life as it is mine. Seriously, find a way to get this done b/c static/dynamic stretching and even a legitimate rotater cuff program did nada.

The purpose of having an MRI arthrogram, and not just an MRI is to look at the labra and they should see a SLAP lesion on MRI arthrogram well assuming they are good and the vast majority of the time. but you already know this:

"My good friend recently received MRI with contrast to diagnose his SLAP lesion."

" I am now pushing for arthroscopy to determine the cause of my discomfort (and, indirectly, my depression)."

Aha...or perhaps your depression is the cause of your shoulder pain?
