Hi all. My son will be in his senior year next year and wants to add some bulk before next football season! He has been working out with me. BUT now basketball has started and im not real sure how he can bulk much, with the schedule. He really enjoys leg training but having games throughout the week on different days makes figuring out a routine difficult. ( DOMS) Any help guys will be much appreciated?

Prowler training worked for me when I played football. Doesn't get you the direct training like squats, and it isn't a replacement, but it never gave me DOMS when conjoined with heavy cardio. I would suggest this + squatting light, then working your way up. It's all about conditioning. I used to have to have 2 squat work days, 1 max-out day, and 4 days of cardio all in the same practice week (usually with a game, sometimes 2). It takes time but it can be done.

Thanks console! I really want to keep him heavy, as he has been gaining size and strength at a good pace. What are your thoughts on upping his protein and calorie intake and just doing a heavy bench and squat 1 time weekly. This wont be a problem after his basketball, but i want to keep him gaining if possible!

basketball's burns TONS of calories obviously feed that boy like his life depends on it. What is his current school/practice schedule? Basketball every weekday after school? Until what time?

Do you have any equipment at home?
