Ever wonder what pathway testosterone takes after it is produced by/injected into your body? I found it interesting that you body naturally produces 5-7mg testosterone/day, which is 35-40mg/week. So, your average Testosterone cycle is bringing your T to about 20 times their natural levels 😀
--> DHT is the reduced form of testosterone that is primarily responsible for hair loss (this pathway can be inhibited by finasteride (Propecia, Proscar)
--> We all know what estradiol is, and why it's so important to inhibit aromatase, but we sometimes forget why it is important not to crush these levels altogether. In addition to it's role in overall muscle gains, estradiol play a role in normal brain function, as well as bone health.
I got this info from https://www.steroidslive.com/testosterone-pathways - There is much more in depth and recently updated info on this page, I highly recommend checking it out.

That's a pretty cool chart man, makes it simple for those who have no clue
Agreed, very good info right here.
Great for those guys who might not know much biology! Might want to add that the aromatase pathway can be inhibited by aromasin (as well as arimidex and letrozole!).
Great article linked also! Going to skim that.
Good read!
Ahhhh I remember learning this! Haha.
I do love these tidbits you post GS. Keep 'em coming sir!
Thanks guys. Just trying to keep the science behind this stuff front and center, so that when someone gives advice, we all know why it is the way it is!

I'm interested to know at what point some of you vets started having to up your doses for the same results. Is it something that happens over a longer period of time, or do those pathways begin to open up relatively quickly?

I wouldn't say that it's about pathways, but more the amount of muscle you can build/carry with a normal level of testosterone (which is linked not only to testosterone levels, but a multitude of other things such as myostatin). More gear ups that "max" amount by throwing more androgens (in the form of testE or tren, which is more anabolic, for example) at your androgen receptors. Once you get far beyond your natural limit, only more and more gear will keep you growing. e.g. if you've find that 1g/wk no longer produces significant growth, then you up that your next cycle to throw even more anabolic androgens in there.
Loosely related, but you might want to look up "genetic potential bodybuilding." Here's something to check out: https://www.worldbodybuilding.net/genetic-muscle-potential . Once you're far over natural, it's an endless parade of just increasing dosages to keep growing.
If I'm not exactly answering your question, let me know.
