One factoid that stood out to me was the decreased testosterone secretion due to alcohol (a minor effect at large dosages). I wonder if this is actually irrelevant while on cycle, i.e. the effect would be zero, since the hormone level is hijacked anyway?

Effect would be minimal on hormones during cycle. I'd stay away anyway just because it's "empty calories." I'd honestly have some more protein or fats than fill it with booze. Not to mention you sleep better (read: better gains) when you're not plastered.
It just isn't worth it to consume alcohol while on cycle. It may not hold you back much, but being held back at all is enough to motivate me to avoid it.
